Extending My Vacation

July 25th, 2008

I’ve decided to extend my vacation at little longer and will be back after this weekend. I just returned from somewhere in Georgia where the internet is slow, and the cell phone service is spotty. I didn’t get to play the Del Mar contest for several days, and haven’t caught up on how the track was playing. I’ll play Porto Santo in the contest race today, and be back next week.

Good Luck;

Ron

Del Mar Polytrack Playing Fair This Year

July 18th, 2008

I’m fairly impressed with the improvements to the Polytrack at Del Mar. It looks to be playing fairly, and front speed has won a few races. It has to be fairly dominating front speed though. I’ll can’t get started betting it yet. I did have Bullsbay in the Handicapping contest which put me in a tie for Six hundred and something place with a $200 fake profit. I’m not going to jump into a night card yet tonight, but it will be interesting to see if the times and biases change a little for the night time card. Last year the track was lightning fast in the morning, and extremely slow in the afternoons. They have been watering it more in the afternoons and whatever else they’ve done it seems to be working. Times are still a little slow, but nothing like last year.
Today I picked Atka in the feature race, which is also today’s contest race. I may bet her too, but that will be about it. This is a nice race with many of the entries nominated for the Del Mar Debutante later in the meet.
I’m leaving on vacation tomorrow morning, and won’t be back until next Thursday. Good Luck in the meantime. I’ll be watching, and should be ready to dive into Del Mar when I return next week.
