Everytime I think I’ve got Del Mar about figured out, they throw me a curve. I’m going to layoff today too. I think the card looks kind of chalky today. I’m going to use the chalk in the 7th race today for the contest. Cry and Catch Me is 1 for 1 at Del Mar and won a grade I last time out. He’s coming off a layoff and could be a little rusty. I still think he beats these though.

I was going to start on Del Mar today, but frankly I don’t have enough money to make a decent bet. I picked Brian the Bold in the Del Mar Handicapping contest. I really liked that one two races back, and left him alone last time because he was the favorite in a race I didn’t think he was the best horse in. I think he is the best in here today so I’ll take a shot at him putting my $100 mythical dollars to win on him. The second place finish of Bro Lo on Monday dropped me in the standings to 279th place out of 5,877 players. I’m hoping for a win out of Brian the Bold in the 6th race today.

I’ve hesitated to jump in and start betting Del Mar since the beginning of the meet. I took such a beating at the beginning of last years meet that I’ve been a little gun shy. I haven’t made a bet there yet, and won’t make one today. I think I’ve got a feel for the track now though, and it seems to be playing pretty fair. I have been playing the Del Mar free handicapping contest and have been doing OK in it. I’ve only played 6 races, but have had 3 winners which puts me in a tie for 213th place or something like that with a $910 mythical profit. I used Bro Lo in today’s contest race, but that’s about all I’ll do with it today. I’ll be ready to start betting actual money later this week.
