No Racing Form For Hollywood Today
I don’t have a racing form today so I’m unable to handicap Hollywood Park, and it may be a few days before I can. My subscription ran out not long after reporting my debit card lost when it was eaten by an ATM machine. I had no idea how difficult it is to go about my daily activities without a debit card. I thought I’d pick up a form at a 7-11 or something. I know they used to sell them. When did they stop selling racing forms in convenience stores? In a metropolitan area the size of Denver there are two outlets for the racing form. One of those is the dog track that is closing next week. The other is Arapahoe Park, which is in the midst of their live racing meet, but about 40 miles from where I live.
I really was just going to post that I won’t be handicapping Hollywood for a few days until my new card arrives and I can renew my Daily Racing Form Subscription. That was before I found out that you can’t buy a racing form on the street in a Metropolitan Area of about five million people. It’s no wonder that the live race meet at Arapahoe Park goes largely unnoticed by everyone in the city. The fact that the track is located somewhere near the Oklahoma / New Mexico boarder doesn’t help.
I was planning on doing some advertising for Arapahoe Park and checked into having “Intothebit Day” this coming Saturday. I will be going with a small group, and was going to sponsor a race, but never received the email I was promised they would send to get the process going. We will still be going to Arapahoe Park on Saturday, mainly because most of the people in the group has ever seen a live horse race. It is unfortunate that there is as little interest in Colorado horse racing as there is. Not even the personnel at the track seem interested in it. Anyway, I’m not handicapping Hollywood today because I couldn’t get a form.
